Step One · SPOT
Urban League believes in every member pursuing the right career for the right reasons. In our Skills & Potential Opportunities Test (SPOT), we dive deep into your current skills and abilities to determine which career path is appropriate for you. Once an area is chosen, a career scope is developed, and a path is created for you to follow.
Step Two · PREP
Once you have a clear understanding of where you want to go, we help you join the workforce. From resumé building to cover letter creation to wage opportunity information, our Professional Readiness Employment Plan (PREP) gives you the skills you need to land that next job. This is where you learn professionalism in the workplace, but it also gives you a chance to build up your confidence.
Step Three · FIT
We offer Formal Industry Training in many areas, from welding and pipefitting to electrical and industrial maintenance. If you have questions along the way, your personal Advocate Counselor will work closely with you to provide the guidance and support you need to enter the workforce. When you have completed our FIT program, you will be ready to tackle any project in your field.
Step Four · STEP
Through our Searching & Tracking Employee Placement program (STEP), we match you and your newly learned skills with available employment opportunities. We work with our network, introduce you to potential employers and help you become comfortable in your new job. Urban League is with you every step of the way.
