Policy Priorities
Urban League of Louisiana shapes our policy priorities from constituents residing within the League's seven target cities - Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Lake Charles, New Orleans, Monroe, and Shreveport. This includes featuring a statewide listening tour, policy conference, and policy work groups. We work with legislators, advocates, and stakeholders to draft constituency focused policy prescriptions into filed legislation during the Legislative Session.

Wake Up Geaux Vote
A non-partisan statewide voter education and mobilization effort that is activated every election cycle to register new voters, provide relevant election updates and information about real-time ballot initiatives and candidates, host debates, and to get people to the polls.
HEALTH
Health Initiatives
The Urban League of Louisiana advances health equity by addressing the social and economic conditions that shape community well-being. Through initiatives like the Big Health Event, health screenings, wellness education, equitable distribution of resources, bringing public health programs to people where they live, and strategic partnerships with healthcare providers and public agencies, the organization expands access to preventive care while connecting health to education, workforce development, housing stability, and economic opportunity.
